Cloud

Things go well

Then there’s a cloud

Things are weak

The clouds get stronger

To get back to normal from the cloud, that’s the challenge

The up and down journey

To clear one’s head of the clouds!

People not traffic

The hustle and bustle of the city catches my eye

I ty to walk but the traffic is maddening

The footpaths are torn, roads are unclear

Everything is oblique and opaque

I sigh and continue to walk

This city, I think to myself, so poor, crowded and desperate

but yet so energetic and deceiving

But I reach my destination and forget the road

Stay in my destination for a while and when I return home, the madness starts again

It is a walker’s hell but a driver’s heaven

Let more cities be built for the people and not for traffic

This is the plight of the developing world.

The Power of A Smile

Let’s smile a little more.

So that we receive love from those who love us

So that the daffodils bloom a little brighter

So that we can all rejoice and come together

Smile for the love of life; for life itself can be beautiful

Much like this poem, conception from the conceived

Conception from the mother of all smiles

Smile to touch lives

Smile to give and take

So, smile a little more

Bloom a little more

Smile gravitates the world, much like Earth itself, like the cosmos

Carpe Diem – Sieze the day, the month, the year

to make a lifetime of smiles.

🙂 🙂  (A smile from me to you)

The art of writing

I received a comment from one of my followers a few days ago basically saying that my posts are not as ‘great’ as they were before or not as engrossing. What has happened? He asked. So this post is in reply to that comment. The exact comment was “Hey, you used to write great – I miss your super writings. Past few posts are just a little bit out of track! come on!”

Well, first off thank you for saying that some of my writings were “super” but I really don’t know where I got lost in the jungle of writing to make you feel that I’ve been out of track. I’ll try my best to get my “super” writing gear on. But unfortunately, realistically I do not think there is such a thing.

Sure, writing can be planned in that the author can decide exactly what to write and when. But, the author writes for his/her own will and not for the will of the others. As much as it is difficult to tell you what happened to my writing style, I feel I have matured a lot in my writing these past few months since I started to write professionally. However, blogging is different to professional writing and something I still have a lot to learn from.

Writing is an art. It is a creative process. Many times it is unstable and fluctuating – a little like a stock market. So when you asked me what happened to my writing, why I haven’t been as creative as I was before, to be honest the answer is I do not know and I can only guess.

I write for my own pleasures. Writing makes me happy – any type of writing makes me happy even this blog post is making me happy. That’s not to say I do not care for feedback because I do – for my own possible improvement.

Many years ago I used to fear the thought of writing a blog post or the thought of writing as an art. It took me a lot of inner struggle to locate myself as a writer. It’s something I do not want to give up on. It’s a type of emancipation, liberating myself from the fear. Telling or rather proving to myself that I can. I constantly can. It’s a form, it’s a process. Like everything it takes time.

Writing, like many other things can be a tedious and mundane task if you’re unsure of what to write about. A little like I am now. I haven’t really dug deep into myself to answer your question – which I think will reveal the best answer. I have been writing professional articles which is basically based on research. However, I’m not well versed with blogging. I’m quite new. I need some inputs and tips on how to be better.

More importantly I need to learn what kind of material really goes out there, markets itself. What stories do people really like? What do they not like? Does a post making it to the desired popularity level lead to a higher quality? I doubt it, but like I said I write for my own pleasure.

Do feel free to express your thoughts in the comments section below or to give me some helpful tips and inputs.

Bystander Effect

SL2056

Relationships can be complicated for sure. The way different couples deal with their problems is very interesting.

Just today, I was sitting at a coffee shop drinking my usual cappuccino when a couple walked in front of me and started to fight.  It was a very peculiar fight and the way they dealt with it was definitely immature. I started to wonder, if getting into relationships was so easy and nasty, why haven’t I ever experienced anything like that?

So this is what happened:

Boy: “Give me MY phone back!!!”

Girl: “No, (She starts running around) don’t worry I wont check anything”

Boy: “Yes you will. Give me MY phone BACK!! NOW!”

Girl: NO NO
..There was a long 2 min fight after which the boy scratches the girl and takes his phone back!

I was a witness to this act. A lot of things went through my mind when this happened.

Firstly, I think it was extremely immature of the girl to take the boy’s phone to check his messages (probably suspecting he was cheating on her)

Secondly, the boy was a complete idiot who obviously doesn’t like her for who she is as he seemed to care more about the phone than his girlfriend. He was clearly hiding something. Something was definitely fishy.

Moreover, he SCRATCHED her! It’s something an animal would do! And it still happens in this day and age with couples! How ridiculous!

See what guilt can do?

It’s probably none of my business but it definitely spurred many thoughts in my brain regarding relationships, cheating, guilt and consequences. Moreover, I was a witness. It’s kind of the psychological bystander effect taking place here.

As a bystander, I followed the bystander effect, just finished my coffee quickly and left the coffee place silently, without interfering. To my surprise no one stopped the couple from fighting.

New Romance – A poem

You look at me, I notice

We share a moment, you know this.

There is a romantic tension between us, you like it.

Finally it’s your chance to make a move and at someone like me!

Someone you’ve waited all your life, someone who fits your rules and regulations

Someone who’s good enough for you

Someone who’s beautiful, of course I’d say I’m beautiful

It’s not just me who says that I’m beautiful, you know I’m beautiful.

You want me

You try hard

I smile a lot at you, I lead you on, but I’m just playing.

It’s a game I like to play, so what?

You don’t know this. You think I’m genuinely interested.

Yes, but I like your  company, you like mine.

You make me smile.

Lets go have a drink

Lets go dance in a pub

Drink and Dance and get lost into the night!

That’s what I want. Some good fun.

That’s what we will do.

What are you waiting for? It’s night, isn’t it, let’s make it one to remember!

I say thank you.

I like being polite.

You like that too. I like your smile, and I kiss you lightly.

We say goodnight and go our own ways.

End of a goodnight!

Chilled out Coffee Discussions

What fun it was today going out with a few acquaintances and family members. Its a good way to get to know new people, hang out and drink coffee to. Its interesting the kinds of topics that crop up when you are together with a group of people.

The first topic that came to mind was organizing. Socializing is a great skill to have. The relationship between enthusiasm, creative ideas and organizing is uncanny. It is something I never thought about before. But you need to have a kind of enthusiasm for doing things and organizing events.  For one, you need to make yourself approachable and have a nice personality. You should not care about what other people think. You need to be content with yourself for others to be content with you. Also, its always helpful to be cheerful and bursting with ideas!

I make myself approachable and I was proud with my co-ordination/communication skills. I talk a lot, very articulate and that’s a quality I admire about myself. That’s good for organizing.

Second, talking a lot. The skill to talk about anything at all in this world, from advertisement to branding, writing, literature, urbanization, well just about anything. You get what I mean. That’s a skill appreciated anywhere and one I happen to posses.

Third, willingness to have coffee and discuss ideas is a great way to just get stuff off your chest! We discussed about how different brands market their products. Its something I would need to do later, its something we all need to do. We all like specific things more than others and we need to market ourselves. Make sure people buy it. For instance, if I want to become a writer I would need to market myself later on to make sure people like it. Be more approachable. I wonder how Mark Twain and Jane Austen marketed themselves or did people just happen to like it? I’m sure they went through a lot of publishing gimmicks before publishing their books and I’m also sure some of their best works might have never been published. See what I mean. It’s topics like this that get conversations moving.

Well, lets have a cup of coffee (I like cappuccino) and discuss more, if not this topic, some other! Why not?Image
